MANGROVEGALLERY is pleased to announce “***”, an exhibition of latest works by Lin Ke. The exhibition will be on view from March 22 to May 30, 2025.
“***” is Lin Ke’s latest solo exhibition—an experiment with images, an inquiry into perception, and a visual exchange that resists fixation. Are images stable? Is seeing reliable? In an ever- shifting visual relationship, how do we recognize, how do we capture?
In “***”, what the audience perceives may not be the images themselves, but the act of questioning they provoke:
The instability, disruption, and displacement inherent in the process of looking form the core of this experiment.
The works unfold in a uniquely dynamic manner—each gaze becomes an act of analysis, a deconstruction of visual states. The interaction between viewing and presentation generates new image relationships with every shift in perspective. As one approaches, certain images surface, like refreshed fragments of past messages; as the gaze moves, deviations and dislocations dissolve into spectral afterimages. These shifting visuals challenge the conventions of perception, prompting a reconsideration of what it means to “see.”
So, what are we truly looking at? The stability of the image, or its continuous state of transformation?
In this exhibition, each act of seeing is a response to that question.
