Yu Hang

Biography

Yu Hang (b. 1987, Jilin, China) studied at the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts and currently lives and works in Shanghai.

His paintings ultimately gravitate toward sensibility, as he views painting as a sensory experience rather than a concept or an explanation. Painting, in his view, cannot be fully apprehended through text; it requires direct, in-person engagement. Yu Hang’s work embodies this visual and emotional intensity, inviting viewers into an immediate sensory encounter.
