MANGROVEGALLERY is pleased to announce The Road to Syracuse, a solo exhibition of new works by Xue Feng, opening on November 16, 2024, and running through January 4, 2025. The exhibition will transform the gallery into a recreation of the artist’s studio, featuring Xue Feng’s experimental installations, paintings, and working archives, showcasing his latest creations and artistic reflections.

We live in an era of spectacle, shaped by the constant building of cities, while simultaneously building cities within our minds. From the simplest of cities to the vast and complex metropolises of today, we reflect on what has been lost and what has been gained. Plato’s road to Syracuse, with its metaphor for the reality and the ideal, may seem distant, yet from today’s perspective, it is the very same road. Through travel, reading, and personal experiences, the artist endeavors to create an ideal place.
