MANGROVEGALLERY is pleased to announce its participation in Art Basel Hong Kong 2026, presenting “Buffer Corridor”, a duo project by Liang Quan and Lin Ke in the Insights sector.

Liang Quan (b.1948) and Lin Ke (b.1984) — two artists from different generations, yet both rooted in Hangzhou, China — approach painting as a layered corridor through which to explore the relationships between image and concept, gesture and medium. Liang works through geometric collages informed by Eastern philosophy, while Lin renders digital images shaped by the processes of (re)visualization and (dis)appearance.

Taking the notion of buffer as a conceptual pivot, the project reflects on painting’s historical trajectory alongside evolving visual mechanisms shaped by digital culture. “Buffer Corridor” uncovers subtle resonances between Liang’s meditative abstractions and Lin’s algorithmic portraits — echoing the speculative question of “how bionic men might perceive electric sheep,” refracted through the work’s intricate layers of vision.
