Nevin Alğada’s work is presented in XINTIANDI, the video section of 2020 West Bund Art & Design. In Top View, Alğada turns the camera on people of different ages, races, genders and social classes in the city of Munich and invites them to perform a dance routine. Despite the anonymity of the people in the film, much information about their identities is revealed through the movement of their shoes and feet. Alada has edited more than fifty clips from the film to play on a loop, and the soundtrack of the film is the sound of the heels and soles of shoes tapping or rubbing against the floor.
