MANGROVEGALLERY proudly presents “Blocking”, a solo exhibition by artist Li Bingyuan, curated by Li Jia. For the first time, this exhibition showcases Li Bingyuan’s latest eponymous work “Blocking” , along with a retrospective of selected creations dating back to 2012. Li Bingyuan delves into various spheres of daily social life through actions, video, and performance art, probing into the realms of the body, materiality, cognitive perception, and social values. His artistic practice occupies urban and rural spaces, encompassing public areas, natural environments, or secluded post-industrial zones. Utilising his body as a sculptural material, Li conducts creative research, employing fragmentation and repetition to demonstrate the interweaving of sculpture and performance. Simultaneously examining our everyday experiences, he reestablishes the norms of social conduct.
