Nevin Aladağ was born in Van, Turkey in 1972. From 1993 to 2000, she studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich, Germany. Professor of the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden. Currently lives and works in Berlin, Germany. 

Nevin Aladag’s works include sculpture, performance, and video that explores the social and political borders of urban spaces and cultures, displaying a special focus on the role of sound in constructing an environment. Her work travels across formal and functional borders, aesthetic and political categories, through historical and ideological territories, via her creation of structures. Her works have been collected by many institutions, including the Centre national d'art et de culture Georges-Pompidou, the Sammlung der Neuen Nationalgalerie, the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, and the Pinakothek der Moderne.
